Joan had dementia and James was her principal carer. When James is diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease aged 85, the family find themselves having to negotiate a fractured health and social care system.<\/p><br><p>\u2019Fighting For Life\u2019 play is inspired by a family-written case study, The Findlay Report, published after James\u2019s death. The family wished to chart the issues they experienced around caring for older people.<\/p><br><p>The play develops the narrative and presents the wider life stories of Joan and Jim and the things they did.
