Chief Executive, NSW Clinical Excellence Commission; Australia

Adjunct Professor Michael Nicholl joined the Clinical Excellence Commission as Chief Executive in August 2022 after a distinguished 40-year clinical career spanning specialist obstetric and gynaecologist roles. He was the senior clinical advisor obstetrics to NSW Health for 15 years. Professor Nicholl is a leader for excellence in safety and quality in healthcare with a firm focus on NSW public health services. He was the first obstetrician in Australia to become a Fellow of the Australasian Association for Quality in Health Care and nationally has worked with the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care on key patient safety issues.
