Hanni Schroeder

Dr. Hanni Schroeder, RN, PhD, is the head of the Shaare Zedek School of Nursing. She previously
served as the director of the Policy Planning Department at the Strategic and Economic Division of the
Israel Ministry of Health. Over the past decade, she has been engaged in strategic planning and in
leading the formulation of national health policy.
Among the major projects she established and managed are the national program for proactive
health care facility planning, which utilizes advanced technologies such as GIS to optimize strategic
decisions the national preparation of the health system for population aging, and research leadership
within the national program for quality indicators.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led policy planning for the ultra-Orthodox minority community
and established the pioneering national program to protect residents of long-term care facilities.
Dr. Schroeder is a registered nurse and holds both a PhD and an MPH from the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem. Her doctoral research focused on the development and implementation of patient-
reported outcome measures (PROMs) for patients with hip fractures.
